Can you please introduce yourself in 1 sentence?
My name is Marc Liegl, I work at Lhyfe in Business Development and I am passionately committed to the energy transition.
How would you describe your job at Lhyfe and what do you particularly like about it?
At Lhyfe, we produce and supply green hydrogen. I’m in charge of identifying and understanding the hydrogen needs of mobility and industrial players, and selling this green hydrogen to them. What I enjoy most is being part of an innovative company that plays an active role in decarbonization.
Why is it important to you to contribute to the decarbonization of the world with your work?
It is important to me because climate change is one of the greatest challenges of our time, and through my work I can actively contribute to reducing CO₂ emissions and making the world a better place to live for future generations.
To what extent does your work contribute to reducing CO₂ emissions in Germany?
By producing green hydrogen, we offer a climate-friendly alternative to fossil fuels, especially in the industry and the transport sector, which can significantly reduce CO₂ emissions.
Is there a particular moment that has stuck in your mind while working at Lhyfe?
One of the most formative moments was the groundbreaking ceremony for our first production plant in Schwäbisch Gmünd, where I had the feeling that we were making a real contribution to the energy transition.
What challenges do you sometimes have to face?
The biggest challenge is often overcoming regulatory hurdles and integrating innovative technologies into existing infrastructure as efficiently as possible, especially since there are no unified standards in this still young industry.
How would you describe the work in the German team?
The German team is characterized by a strong sense of community, openness and a high degree of cooperation in order to achieve sustainable goals together.
And finally, why green hydrogen?
Green hydrogen is one of the cleanest and most efficient energy carriers of the future, as it is produced from renewable energy sources and does not produce harmful emissions, making it crucial for the energy transition.
