Can you please introduce yourself in 1 sentence?

I am a civil engineer with over 20 years of experience in the energy business based in Bremen, who also enjoys outdoor activities such as running, cycling, canoeing, and hiking in my free time.

Can you describe your job at Lhyfe, and what you particularly like about it?

I started working at Lhyfe as a Business Developer two years ago. My main responsibility is to identify off-takers for our green hydrogen production units and assist clients in decarbonizing their operations by transitioning to more environmentally friendly and sustainable practices.

What I love most about my job is the sense of purpose I get from contributing to emission reduction and the diverse range of customers and challenges I face every day.

How does your work contribute to reducing CO2 emissions in Germany?

My work significantly contributes to reducing CO2 emissions by promoting the use of green hydrogen as an alternative to fossil fuels. Based on the customized offer, the customer can decide on hydrogen delivery, and I will incorporate it into a delivery contract. The customer will then use the hydrogen as an alternative fuel in transportation or industrial processes. In this way, I help clients minimize their carbon footprint and support Germany’s efforts to achieve sustainability and address climate change.

What is your fondest memory of working at Lhyfe?

It was an unforgettable moment for me to witness the refuelling of a hydrogen truck by Lhyfe for the first time. As the engine started after refuelling, I was struck by the absence of the typical noise of fossil-fuelled trucks and the lack of pollution in the air. The smooth start and movement of that huge truck marked a moment of realisation for me – we can make a difference and transform the system through dedicated effort!

And finally, why green hydrogen?

Green hydrogen, which is produced from renewable sources, is a crucial method for rapidly reducing emissions from industry and transportation. Transitioning to green hydrogen not only aids in combating climate change more quickly and efficiently but also results in a significant reduction in greenhouse gases. It represents a vital progression towards a cleaner, more sustainable future.
